The oeuvre combines technics known from the painting/drawing and such that are known from photography or realistic and childish painting to create an artwork focused on the human face that is usually discibed as "bizzare", "creepy" or just "irritating".
His concept seeks to make the duality and ambivalence of human nature
visible.
"Both is the same" is a quote of the artist that is written on the top of his website. For Bieniek this sentence means a lot. It means that it's less the question of "what?" than of "when?". It means that it's less the question of "when" than of "what next to?" Even further Bieniek say's it's not a question of "facts or not facts?" but of "how they're combined?" or "what do you begin with and what do you end with?".
Since 2012 Sebastian Bieniek created a few dozen
of series of photographs and paintings in which he developed the Bieniek-Face concept based on different subjects, technics and cultural and individual backgrounds.
Meanwhile Bieniek-Face is one of the most famous icons of the last six years
spread worldwide by the internet and all channels of media, including such as magazines, tv, newspapers, art, fashion, music, cinema, literature, advertising and even politics.
